Fiumicino - Roma

The tree planting project at Parco Tommaso Forti in Rome Fiumicino aims to contribute to the park's redevelopment through a careful tree planting strategy. As an important urban space, the park needed targeted interventions to improve environmental quality and usability for the local community.

Main Objectives:

1. Improve the park's biodiversity by diversifying tree species.

2. Increase vegetative cover to help mitigate the effects of air pollution.

3. Create a more welcoming and healthy environment for residents and park visitors.

4. Promote environmental awareness and community involvement in tree planting and care activities.

The result of the tree planting project at Parco Tommaso Forti has contributed to the improvement of air quality due to trees' ability to absorb CO2 and atmospheric pollutants, an increase in local biodiversity favored by the presence of various tree species, the creation of a more pleasant and livable public space for the local community and visitors, and an opportunity for active citizen involvement in the park's enhancement activities.

The tree planting project at Parco Tommaso Forti represents an important step towards the redevelopment and enhancement of one of the green lungs of the city of Rome Fiumicino. Through the collaboration between public entities, private organizations, and the local community, we are confident that we can create a more sustainable, healthy, and welcoming urban environment for all.

All this has been made possible thanks to the collaboration with ADR (Aeroporti di Roma), Lagardere Travel Retail, and Etifor, a spin-off of the University of Padua. Their contributions have been fundamental pillars for the success of this environmental redevelopment initiative.
